Yesterday was a historical day for the world! Did you actually think we would let the Obama craze pass us by?
We found a very informative article regarding what the American housing industry expects from Obama. The Canadian housing market is certainly not in the same state as the United States but we are definitely seeing it filter through. We understand President Obama won’t be a miracle worker but it’s a huge step towards the right direction. We believe he’ll keep the housing industry as one of his top priorities and, as promised, he’ll create a $10 billion foreclosure-prevention fund for our southern neighbours.

The International CES is the world’s largest consumer technology trade show. It features 2700 exhibitors that introduce and showcase new technologies and most importantly, technology marketing trends. This year, the major issue is companies that are struggling to find effective ways to excite consumer purchasing during a recession. After the trade show, Accenture’s director, Greg Douglass, spoke on a few key marketing trends he took away from this event.
Established as one of the largest real estate associations in North America, the Chinese Real Estate Professionals Society of Ontario (CREPSO) is a non-profit organization facilitating co-operation and networking among Chinese real estate professionals.
CREPSO’s corporate members include some of the largest Chinese real estate brokerage firms as their membership covers approximately 85% of all Chinese realtors across Ontario. CREPSO has built relationships with some of the largest developers and marketing companies in Canada including Tridel, Concord Cityplace, Baker Real Estate Corp., Liberty Developments, TAS Design, PMA Brethour Realty Group etc. Unfortunately, with such prominence in the real estate industry, their online presence did not reflect this.

We would like to re-visit an article from the Globe and Mail where Brad Lamb was asked a series of questions regarding visualization technologies (model suites, scale-models, renderings, 3D video presentations) used on new development projects.
In the third section of the article Mr. Lamb was asked about the cost of real estate visualization and he replies:
It was very expensive five years ago. We’re starting to see the cost come down a little but it’s still expensive and I wouldn’t say that it’s widespread. Maybe a five minute presentation is going to cost $50 to $75 grand. So the ability to use this technology depends on budget. If you’ve got a hundred-unit building with a marketing budget of $300,000, you couldn’t spend that much. You would build a model suite and have static images and that would be your typical sales set up. But for something bigger, like a $200 million dollar development, $75 grand is a drop in the bucket. So typically it’s the larger scale projects that will use it.
If a builder/developer were to read that response, they would definitely shy away from considering a Virtual Reality video presentation if their next development wasn’t a $200 million dollar project.
We feel that these video presentations are one of the best features when walking into a sales centre as it is attention grabbing; it truly ‘captures’ the lifestyle of a new development. The video can also be mailed out to various prospective home buyers, and realtors in DVD format.
At ADhoc, we work with a number of leading 3D animators while controlling our costs. This allows up to provide this technology to any builder/developer, no matter the size of the project.
On your next project, you should consider utilizing this marketing tool and realize its true benefits!
Check out our YouTube Channel for a few of our Virtual Reality video samples.
