Touchscreen Display for Royal Palisade

We’re a bit late blogging about this project but it was featured in our April Newsletter. Building off the success of the touchscreen we created for Palisades on the Glen, we designed and developed another touchscreen application for Retirement Life Communities and Brookfields project ‘Royal Palisade’ in Stratford, Ontario (Justin Bieber’s Hometown!).

These touchscreen displays are a perfect sales tool for any retirement/adult lifestyle community sales office.  A huge benefit is it provides the sales staff with the ability to walk potential purchasers through the entire project in one sitting. The typical buyers for these projects are 60+ years of age and we’re sure they prefer to comfortably sit down and learn about a project rather than getting dragged around the entire sales office looking at tradtional display boards.

Floor plans, renderings, amenity spaces, views, site plans, and suite availability can be viewed at their fingertips.  Not to mention prospective buyers stay at your sales office longer because the touchscreen technology is so fun and engaging!

Interactive Touchscreen for Palisades On The Glen

Setting new standards in retirement living since 1988, Retirement Life Communities & Brookfield Asset Management, awarded ADhoc to create a variety of visualization tools for their condo project located in Mississauga, Ontario. Colour Floor Plan Renderings were created to highlight the quality and features of the living spaces. A site plan rendering was also created to showcase the beautiful location. The site is surrounded by 4 acres of mature forest, parklands, and steps away from the historic Glenerin Inn. All these images, including suite views were displayed on a stunning Interactive Touchscreen display which is a tremendous educational tool for buyers to better understand the building and project.

There is one key feature in this touchscreen we would like to mention. We setup a wireless print function so that the sales team could print floor plans for buyers (on demand). This is a huge benefit because brochure printing costs are cut down significantly and overall it’s more ‘green friendly‘ .

Interactive touchscreens are becoming extremely popular and it has even translated to the arcade/gaming industry. Panasonic and Uicentric are revolutionizing the game of air hockey with this 103-inch multi touch air hockey table. This is so cool that we might have to turn our own touchscreen displays at the office into air hockey tables!

The Cost of Real Estate Visualization

The Cost of Real Estate Visualization

We would like to re-visit an article from the Globe and Mail where Brad Lamb was asked a series of questions regarding visualization technologies (model suites, scale-models, renderings, 3D video presentations) used on new development projects.

In the third section of the article Mr. Lamb was asked about the cost of real estate visualization and he replies:

It was very expensive five years ago. We’re starting to see the cost come down a little but it’s still expensive and I wouldn’t say that it’s widespread. Maybe a five minute presentation is going to cost $50 to $75 grand. So the ability to use this technology depends on budget. If you’ve got a hundred-unit building with a marketing budget of $300,000, you couldn’t spend that much. You would build a model suite and have static images and that would be your typical sales set up. But for something bigger, like a $200 million dollar development, $75 grand is a drop in the bucket. So typically it’s the larger scale projects that will use it.

If a builder/developer were to read that response, they would definitely shy away from considering a Virtual Reality video presentation if their next development wasn’t a $200 million dollar project.

We feel that these video presentations are one of the best features when walking into a sales centre as it is attention grabbing; it truly ‘captures’ the lifestyle of a new development. The video can also be mailed out to various prospective home buyers, and realtors in DVD format.

At ADhoc, we work with a number of leading 3D animators while controlling our costs. This allows up to provide this technology to any builder/developer, no matter the size of the project.

On your next project, you should consider utilizing this marketing tool and realize its true benefits!
